Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: 26 August 2026

JoshWell is free to read, and we want to keep it that way. This page explains exactly how we make money — because we believe a health site should be as transparent about its funding as it is about its facts. This disclosure follows the guidelines of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) on disclosure of material connections.

The short version

Some links on JoshWell are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the seller pays us a commission. You pay nothing extra — the price is the same whether you use our link or go to the seller directly. That commission is what funds our writers, our medical review process, and the running of this site.

How affiliate links work here

  • When an article mentions a product we've linked through an affiliate programme, the link routes through our tracking system so the seller knows the referral came from us.
  • Affiliate and sponsored links on our pages carry the rel="sponsored" attribute, the technical standard search engines use to identify commercial links — so the disclosure isn't just visible to you, it's machine-readable too.
  • Pages containing affiliate links carry a visible disclosure notice.

What commissions never buy

This is the part we care about most:

  • Commissions never change our rankings or opinions. If we say a product is worth trying, that conclusion was reached editorially first — the affiliate link is attached afterwards, if a programme exists. We never work backwards from "who pays us" to "what we recommend."
  • We say negative things about products we could earn from. If the evidence for a product is weak, we say the evidence is weak — commission or not.
  • No brand can pay to change an article's conclusions. Editorial content and monetization are handled separately; our Editorial Policy describes the wall between them.
  • We never earn from prescription medicines. We do not link to or promote prescription drugs, full stop.

Current partner categories

Our affiliate partnerships currently fall into these categories:

  • Hair care — hair fall and scalp care products
  • Ayurvedic supplements — traditional wellness formulations
  • Nutrition — protein, vitamins, and general nutrition products
  • Sexual wellness brands — covered clinically and respectfully

Specific partners change over time, and the presence of a category here doesn't guarantee any particular brand is a partner at any given moment. What never changes is the rule above: partnership status has zero influence on what we write.

Third-party sites

Once you click through to a seller's site, your purchase is between you and them — their prices, delivery, returns, and privacy policy apply. We encourage you to review products, prices, and terms yourself before buying anything.

Questions

If anything about our affiliate relationships is unclear, or if you think a disclosure is missing somewhere on the site, write to hello@joshwell.com. If you believe a commercial relationship has influenced our editorial content, we want to know about it — that would be a serious problem for us, and we will investigate.
